Deep Groove Ball Bearing (GB/T 276-1994) The radial ball bearing is the most widely used type of rolling bearing. It is characterized by low frictional resistance and high rotational speeds. It can be used in components subjected to radial loads or combined radial and axial loads. It can also be employed in components subjected solely to axial loads, such as small-power motors, automotive and tractor gearboxes, machine tool gearboxes, general-purpose machinery, and tools.

The basic deep-groove ball bearing consists of an outer ring, an inner ring, a set of steel balls, and a set of retainers. There are two types of deep-groove ball bearings: single-row and double-row. The deep-groove ball bearing design also comes in two configurations: sealed and open. An open-type bearing has no sealing structure, whereas sealed deep-groove ball bearings are further divided into dust-sealed and oil-sealed types. The dust-sealed cover is made of stamped steel plate and serves only to prevent dust from entering the bearing raceway. The oil-sealed type features a contact-type oil seal that effectively prevents lubricant from leaking out of the bearing.

The designation for single-row deep groove ball bearings is 6, while the designation for double-row deep groove ball bearings is 4. With their simple structure and ease of use, these bearings are the most commonly produced and widely used type of bearing.
